We've been talking a lot about the survey we put out there to all of you, about how Phish has impacted your life. This is the first look at those results, including an interview with Julie about her journey, and a longer conversation and some music with Zac, who has been on the show before and helped us put this survey together.

We play some music (selections below), and we hope you enjoy. We encourage you to check out HF Pod Plus, we appreciate your support. And take the survey if you haven't yet, it'll be an ongoing thing.

You can subscribe and review us on iTunes and follow us on Twitter. Also like us on Facebook. And check out CashorTrade for face value tickets to shows across the country.

This week we take a moment to say farewell to a man who has touched and influenced so many in our scene, Colonel Bruce Hampton, Ret. He has often been referred to as a "godfather of the jam scene," and he was respected and loved by so many.

He was a leader of the jamband scene, as it grew from the clubs of the late 80s and spawned H.O.R.D.E. in the early 90s and through to today. He passed surrounded by loved ones, friends, and fans, doing what he did for so long, introducing the unexpected into music. Whether it be the Hampton Grease Band, Aquarium Rescue Unit, Fiji Mariners, the Code Talkers, or playing Trombone with Phis, he provoked his fellow players to circumvent the obvious and inspired them to rise to ever greater heights. This episode focuses on the intersections of Col. Bruce and Phish, of course, and also some other music (see below).

A few other things: please give us input into our survey about how Phish has impacted your life. We have some good ideas for what to do with this stuff, so get your submission in!

We're really excited to be releasing this interview with Joel Cummins of Umphreys McGee! Brad caught up with Joel while the tour was coming through Phoenix. Fun conversation about Umphrey's and Phish, with some music as well (tracks and timing below). Also, pretty cool that you can hear members of the band practicing in the background, as this was recorded backstage. We had a great time with this interview, and we hope you enjoy.

NEW PODCAST ALERT! Check out Beyond the Pond, a soon to be released podcast from two friends and Phish fans, Brian and Dave. I've heard the first episode, and let me tell you, it's worth listening to.

If you haven't yet, please check out HF Pod Plus! This bonus content will be delivered every 2 weeks (a new piece of content will be up Friday, 3/31). We appreciate your support and feedback.

This week we discuss the Phish St. Louis '93 release with guest Scott Bernstein. We're happy to have Scott back, and we had a fun conversation about this release of two very different shows from the same year.

The shows that are being released are April 14 and  August 16. Two great shows. We of course include some clips as well as some discussion. Hope you enjoy.

Here's a link to the piece JamBase has put up about the St. Louis '93 release thus far. Check out JamBase for more updates and music from this release. Here's where you can pre-order the St. Louis '93 release via Phish Dry Goods.

If you haven't heard yet, we recently launched HF Pod Plus! This is bonus content delivered every couple of weeks. We hope you enjoy—but want to reiterate that regardless of whether you support HF Pod Plus, absolutely nothing will change about HF Pod. Thank you as always for your feedback and thoughts.

take it with you

Iphone_trans Listening to podcasts on your mobile devices is extremely convenient -- and it's what makes the podcasting medium so powerful.

You can take your favorite shows and mixes with you anywhere, but to do so requires some quick and simple steps.

Let's walk you through that process together.
step 1:

Click the "Subscribe With iTunes" link in the page's sidebar:

Subscribe_with_itunes

This will require that you have the iTunes software on your computer.

(You can download iTunes here.)
step 2:
Itunes_ss

Now that you've subscribed to the podcast on iTunes, the feed will display in your "Podcasts" section on the left navigation bar.

Click there and you'll see the show displayed in the iTunes browser.

You can "get all" to download all available episodes or just individual episodes.
step 3:

Plug your mobile device (iPhone, iPad, iPod) into your computer with the Dock Connector cable, and click the device in iTunes's left navigation bar.

Itunes_ss2

Once you have your device highlighted, click "Podcasts" in the top navigation bar and sync the podcasts you want on your device. Click "apply" and the episodes you have downloaded on your iTunes software will sync with your device.
that's it!

The beauty of this process is that now, every new episode of your subscribed podcasts will automatically sync to your device every time you plug it in and open iTunes. You can now take your favorite shows with you everywhere you go.

Enjoy!
